Mr. Justice Reed left by the Limited last night for Wanganui. Bishop Liston left by the Limited for Te Awamutu laet night. Mr. N. S. Falla, of Wellington, has been appointed Consul for Japan. Mr. and Mrs. G. Niccol, of Auckland, :ire leaving for Sydney by the Mariposa to-day. Mr. E. Anscombe.. of Wellington, is at present on a visit to Auckland, and is at the Station Hotel. Mr. I\ T . G. Gore, president of the New Zealand Tennis Association, returned to Wellington last night. Mr. A. E. Baking Smith arrived in Auckland by the Mariposa this morning and is at the Station Hotel. Mr. D. Rodie, commercial manager of the Railway Department,. Wellington, arrived by the Limited this morning. Lieutenant-Colonel C. R. Spragg has. had hie period of command of the Waikato Mounted Rifles extended until October next. Mr. E. Murray Fuller, who held an exhibition of British contemporary art in Auckland, is leaving by the Mariposa on his way to Melbourne. The Very Rev. C. F. Aekew, Dean of Kelson, and formerly of Wellington, has decided to resign his position in the Nelson diocese and intends to return to England in March of next year. Mr. F. G. Treweek, of Auckland, assistant registrar of the New Zealand Institute of Certified Secretaries, is visiting Christchurcll. He will spend eix weeks, on the organisation of a chapter of the institute.

Mr. J. W. Mawson, director of town planning, arrived from Wellington on Saturday. He will make a series of informal vieits to local authorities in the Auckland metropolitan area, and will leave for the South to-morrow night.
