FIRE IN NEWTON.

MILLINER'S SHOP DAMAGED. There was an outbreak of fire in the workroom on the first floor of a milliner's shop situated at 3a, Karangahape Road, about 4.45 yesterday afternoon. Other rooms on the premises weje slightly damaged. It is thought that the fire originated in the workroom, where there were two sewing machines, both of which were extensively damaged. Two engines from the City Eire Brigade station turned out, and did" not have a great deal of difficulty in subduing the outbreak. The premises are insured for £900 with the Australian Insurance Office. Tlhe contents were uninsured.
