SEVERE CRITICS.
AUSTRALIAN AUTHOR'S BQOK
NEW YORK, November 4.
The latest novel by Mr. Norman Lindsay, Australian author, entitled "The Amorist," was published yesterday. It deals with the affaire of three men and a woman who are shipwrecked on an island in the South Seas.
The author is severely taken to task by reviewers who call the situation "moss-grown with age" and condemn its treatment. The reviewer of the New York "World Telegram" says: "It all depends upon how much you can stand."
The "Evening Post" remarks: "Lindsay negotiates most startling and naked unconventionalities."
