it wliicli the luiuister of Agriculture, ;he Hon. C. E. Macmillan, protested gainst a cartoon published in "Farming First," the Minister has written drawing attention to a misquotation of his remarks. Mr. Macmillan said at the .meeting that the words in the corner of the cartoon were: • "The Department of Agriculture intends taking the responsibility in cases of importation of stock, in view of the possibility of the introduction of foot-and-mouth disease." These words were the basis of the cartoon to which the Minister took exception. He was erroneously reported as saying that "The Department intends taking the responsibility of the introduction of foot-and-mouth disease."
