STRUGGLE TO ESCAPE.
POLICEMAN'S LEG- BROKEN
MAN GOES FOR ASSISTANCE,

A man was under arrest for drunkenness at Waiuta last night, and when Constable Neary entered his cell at nine o'clock the prisoner attacked him and endeavoured to escape.
During a struggle the constable /oil heavily, injuring his right leg. . He informed the prisoner, who ceased struggling and went for assistance.
The constable was brought to Greymoutli Hospital tliis morning with liis right leg badly fractured.
