PRUNING EVERGREEN SHRUBS.
When new growth is commencing, in spring, is the best time to do any pruning .required by the evergreen shrubs. Holly, yew, box, laurel, rhododendrons, camellias may all be cut with safety. When cuts are of any size, say, of a larger diameter than the top of the finger, dress the wounds with tar.
