SHARP FALL IN ONIONS. HEAVY CANADIAN SUPPLIES. The scarcity of onions, which had kept .prices at unusually high levels for several months, has been materially relieved by substantial consignments which arrived from Canada by the Hauraki and Niagara. As a result prices have dropped several shillings a cwt, and the ruling rate at the auction marts to-day was 15/ to 16/ a 1001b crate. During the period of shortage they sold as high as 3of. WELLINGTON PRICES. Messrs. Laery and Co., Ltd., Wellington, report present values as follow:—Lemons, choice, cured, 6/ to 8/, others, 4/ to 5/ bushel; .passions, large, 12/ to 14/ half case; French beans, hothouse, 2/ to 2/6 per lb; tomatoes, hothouse, 1/ to 1/3% per lb; cucumbers, hothouse, 4/ to 10/ dozen; new potatoes, 7/6 to 8/6 sugar bag; grapefruit, large, 5/ to 6/ bushel; gooseberries, 5d to 5%d per lb; strawberries, 1/6 to 1/7 per punnet.
