TO RACE AT WHANGAREI. Hampton Park, who is not engaged at Ellerslie, has heen paid up for in the open sprint at Whangarei next Thursday, and if this gelding would 'only repeat bis track form he would be very hard to beat, for his speed is undoubted. He-went particularly well over five furlongs at Ellerslie this morning, covering the dis- . tance in 1.5. He was full of running at the finish, registering 49 4-5s for the last half mile. Hampton Park runs his best races when the going is firm, and if these conditions prevail at Whangarei he should have a payable trip.
