TO RACE'AT TE RAP A.
The members of A. E. Cox*s team are going along very satisfactorily and it is expected that they will be competing at the Waikato meeting this month. Gigantic is looking brighter than at any -previous time this season and in his next- start should at least be prominent. Schiz'anthus is shaping nicely on the tracks and should race to advantage on a firm track. -"The two-year-old Bonnie Joyce is developing nicely and, she has shown sufficient pace in her work to justify her trainer to expect her name to" be on the winning list before long. The hurdler Carl Hertz, who, while a member of Ml". Alex. Swney's team, was troubled with soreness, now shows no signs, of it and is working very consistently. Mr. 11. B. Hines will not be represented at the Auckland spring meeting, but his charges may be said to be dong well in their work. The most improved member of the team is. the three-year-old Master Briefly, who has made considerable improvement siaee racing at Avondale. On Tuesday morning he accounted for Moonfieet very comfortably in a fast-run rive furlongs. The Musketoon gelding will next be seen out at Te Rapa. Miss liU is shaping up nicely, but this two-year-old halfsister 'to Master 'BrierJy }'is'hot being hurried in. her preparation., Both King Mestov and King Musk are ' growing plenty of pace on the tracks aitfj%re.igetting through their tasks so satisfactorily that they should get into the money at the Waikato meeting. The four-year-old chestnut gelding by Musketoon that joined C. E. Mallowes" stable last month, is getting into shape quickly, and will be ready to carry his owner's colours before the season has.much further advanced.
