PROTEST AGAINST TIPPING EVIL.
A new wrinkle in the old war against tipping has just been discovered in Paris. It is tJte idea of a heroic Frenchman called Jean Chariot, whose ings from' tho system which pervades, every walk of life in Europe .became more than he could bear. Ho has grouped;about him several other hardy 3ouls. ; Their "principle; is to give a coin to the orie who expects a:tip—but it is a coin that cannot be spent. On one side of it is.'tie inscription: "Get yourself paid by yc ur employer," and on the other: "Tipping is beggary." That the. practice will become widespread is more than anyone hopes. Tipping has so woven itself into the financial and' social structure of France that nothing 'short of a revolution can dd away with it.
