AUCKLAND ASSOCIATION , . FIRST EXECUTIVE HEETING. The first meeting of the new executive 4 of the Auckland Rowing Association was held last night:—Present, J. R. H. Biss, L. Brooker, J. Haylock, H. H. M. Hilliard, K. Porter, A. Ross, A. C. Norden, S. Scott, W. A. Walsh, R. H. Stewari:. On the motion of Mr. Hililard, seconded by Mr. Biss, Mr. A. C. Nor 3en was-elected chairman for- the ensuing season.; . .An apology for absence was received from Mr.. C. C. Cairns. ; ... '..' . - It was decided that any regular challenge received for the So merville Shield .be forwarded to N.Z.A.R.A. It was further resolved that Hamilton receive a copy of the association's letter to Tauranga with the request .that they in turn will send it on to the N.Z.A.R.A. for consideration. The following officials were appointed for the Tauranga Regatta, subject to their . acceptance:—Starter, C. Tonkin; umpire, A. C. Norden: judges, Tauranga president, C. H, Hunt, C. C. Cairns; clerk of scales, J. C. Aitken. The Ngariiawahia Club forwarded £2 2/ for affiliation. It was de :lded that the amount'be received and that Ngaruawahia be reinstated. . ■'' , Mr. I. C. Horton advised that owing to his time being occupied with business he would be unable to servo on the executive. The vacancy will bo considered a t the next meeting. It was agreed that Whal:atane be reinstated on receipt of current season's affiliation, all arrears to be wipel out. . The following sub-committees were appointed:—Emergency, A. C. Norden. R. H. Stewart, R. Porter; finance, A. C. Norden, J. H. Biss. W. *A. Wai sh; association eights, I/. Brooker, H. H. 11. Hilliard; S. Scott, C. C. Cairns; regatta, A. C. Norden, R. Porter, L." Brooker; eight oar rowing, A. Ross, R. Porter; Press, J. Eiaylock. The country delegate wig deputed to advise all country clubs of proceedings of executive meetings.
