BROADCAST PARLIAMENT?
MEMBER'S SUGGESTION. ."TO LET THE PEOPLE HEAR." WELLINGTON, this day. A novel request is contained in a question tabled in the House by Mr. D. McDougall. (Government, Mataura), who is asking the Postmaster-General whether he will favourably consider having a microphone installed in the House, in order that the revenue of .the Legislative Department may be increased, and also that it may be the means of letting the. people in the country who were connected by wireless hear what, members of Parliament actually do and 6ay, and not what newspapers state that they say. *It is hardly expected that the Post-master-General will agree to this innovation, but the opinion in the Parliamentary Press Gallery is that if a microphone were installed it would have the sure and certain effect of causing every radio listener to realise just how much lie owes to the Press.
