PEA RIFLE MISHAP.
YOUTH'S FORTUNATE ESCAPE. BULLET ENTERS HAND. While removing the magazine from a repeating pea rifle, a lad, Jack Weston, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Weston, of Birch Road, Pukekohe, was injured by a bullet exploding and entering the second finger of the lad's left hand. The bullet simply skimmed its course under the skin and missed the vital points. Dr. A. T. Begg removed the bullet, and as far as could be seen there was no seri-i ous injury.
