FAT STOCK MARKETS.

The N<W Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report:—To-day at our weekly Westfield fat stock market beef was penned in average numbers, including many good quality cattle. The demand was less keen than last week. Extra choice ox sold to 18/ per 1001bJ choice and prime ox, 15/ to 16/6; ordinary and plain ox, 13/ to 15/; prime young cow and heifer beef, 14/ to 17/; ordinary cow beet, 10/ to 13/. Heavy prime steers ranged in price from £6 2/6 to £6 10/; lighter, £5 to £6; light, £4 15/ to £5 17/6;. unfinished and email, £3 to £4 10/; extra heavy prime young cows and heifers, £a, to £5 16/; heavy, £4 to £4 17/6; lighter, £3 to £3 17/6; light, £2 5/ to £2 17/6; other cows, 30/ to £2 2/6; light prime steers, £4 15/ to £5 7/.

Alfred Buckland and Sons, Ltd; report:—At our weekly Westfield fat stock market held to-day our beef pens contained 307 head, comprising 215 steers and 92 cows and heifers, as against 291 head at last Wednesday's .market. The major portion of the ox beef was of excellent quality. ; There was a sluggish demand, with a further decline in heavy cattle suffering most. Extra choice oi sold, to 18/ per 1001b; choice and prime, 15/. to_ 17/; secondary and plain, 13/ to 14/; prime young cow and heifer beef, 14/ .to 16/; secondary, 8/ to 13/. Extra, heavy prime steers ranged in price from £7 to £7 17/6; heavy, £6 to £6 17/6; lighter, £4 15/ to £5 17/6; light, £4 to £4 12/6; small and unfinished, £2 to £3 17/6. Extra heavy prime young cows and heifers, £5 2/6 to £6; heavy, £3 10/ to £4 15/; light, £2 to £3 7/C; others, £1 to £1 17/6. .
