SEASIDE THIEVES.
RAID ON A BACH. BIG THEFT AT MANGEKE. MONEY AND JEWELLERY WORTH £70. While a city business man was on the beach at Mangere yesterday morning engaged in painting a boat, thieves entered his seaside bach in Watea Road and stole about £20 in notes and jewellery, including a gold watch, of a total value of £70. The theft was committed between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Evidently the thief had kept the bach under observation and awaited his opportunity to enter while the owner was absent. The premises were unlocked, so it was an easy Siatter for the intruder to enter. The bank notes stolen were hidden under a mattress.
