ROYAL SHOW.

OPENED BY GOVERNORGENERAL GOOD ENTRIES OF STOCK. RECORD IX PIG SECTION. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) PALMERSTON" NORTH, this day. The ninth Royal Show was opened to-day by the Covernor-General, Lord Bledisloe. There was an attractive, comprehensive display, and the entries in nearly every class were ahead of those when the show was last held here. The greatest gains were made by pigs, the entries this year numbering 227, being a record for royal shows. Cattle and sheep were up to the previous high standard. AH breeds were well represented. Judging is in progress to-day.
