AUCKLAND MANAGER TO RETIRE
The Auckland manager' of the New Zealand Insurance Company, Mr. H. W. Kelly, will shortly retire, owing to lllhealth. His successor will be Mr. T. C. Buddie, formerly of Auckland, and present manager of the company in India. Mr. Kelly's association with the company began 43 years ago. Born at Mangonui 58 years ago, he was educated in Napier, and joined the staff of the company in 1889. For some time he served in the Wellington office, until, in 1911, he was appointed manager of the Wanganui branch. He was transferred to Dunedin as manager in 1920, and in 1923 was appointed manager of the Melbourne branch, during the holding _of which latter position he was controlling officer for Australia. In 1930 he was appointed Auckland manager. Mr. Buddie is a son of Mrs. Thomas Buddie, of Auckland, and the late Mr. Thomas Buddie. He joined the company's offices in India 24 years ago.
