At a meeting of the management committee of tho South Auckland Cricket Association Inst evening the draw for tho TTawke Tup elimination matches resulted : Poverty Bay v. Waipu, Bay of Plenty v. South Hnwke's Buy. Hawke's Bay v. Wairarapa, Nelson v. Mnrlborouprh, West Coast v. Buller, Southland r. North Otago. Ransitikei a bye. Tlie winning teams in these matches will have the right to challenge the holders. All matches must be decided before December 13. Taranaki has challenged South Auckland (holders of the cup) for the first match, the suggested dates being December 10 and The New Zealand Cricket Council advised that the amended ITawke Cup rules as submitted by South Auckland would not he considered this year and that the previous rules would be observed. ATTRILL CUP. Playing in the first round of the Attrill €un competition the Opotiki Cricket Club defeated Waimnna by 9 rum on Sunday at Opotiki. In the first innings Opotiki made f>s (Kelly IT), and in the second 50 (N. .Tecsop 13). Bowling for Waimana, Menges took eight wickets for 19 rims and three for 21, Monk two' for 11, J. Ruff seven for 23. Waimana's first innings yielded 50 (Meriges 25), and the second innings 56 (J. Wardlaw 10). Bowling for Opotiki. ,T. ;Tes>sop took three wickets for 18 runs and two for c<. 11.
