TYPOGRAPHICAL WORKERS.
DEADLOCK ON WAGES ISSUE. ADJOURNMENT TO. NOVEMBER 15. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. No agreement was reached in the Conciliation Council proceedings to-day in the dispute between tho typographical workers and the employers. A deadlock was reached on the wages issue, and the proceedings were adjourned until November 15. When ths hearing was resumed to-day it was agreed to hold Over the disputed c.assiflcation clause and discuss the wages clauses, which were the principal points in dispute. The employers'wages proposals provided for a reduction of approximately 10 per cent from the net rates now ibeing paid. The workers' counter-proposals were on the basis of the existing award. Discussion on the wages clauses occupied the greater part of the day. Although concessions were mentioned and considered, no finality was reached. The adjournment decided upon is m accordance with the requirements of the Amended Act. If no agreement is come to by November 15 the present award will expire one Month from the date of the commencement of the conciliation proceedings.
