EPSOM CLUB.
Thp club's twenty-fifth season was officially ooened on Saturday, when the president Mr Jno. McDougall, extended a UeSrty welcome to the assembled company, which besides large numbers of members and their wives and friends, included rom-esVita fives of numerous other clubs. Mr McDougall aptly expressed the sentiments of all the bowlers present by alludSI to Hie splendid condition of the greens and the artistry of the decorations, as well nsbvhfs eulogies of the superintendent, Mr Burton and the caretaker, Mr. Clark. »%£ "SAtiS?*® ft Sj, repre^t remarks, and commenting, favourably on officially opened by the able throwing of the first jack to'Uj McDougall, and the president called on three of the oldest members of the club. Messrs. Land, A. French and J. Amburj, to deliver the first bowls, amid applau!*?. The upstairs . nail . . was tastefully decorated, and Mrs. McDougall and the ladies' committee here dispensed an enjoyable afternoon tea.
