CHILD'S DEATH.
COLLAPSED ON FATHER'S KNEE. EVIDENCE AT INQUEST. IN DELICATE STATE OF HEALTH. While sitting on her father's knee at 7.30 last evening- a girl, aged two years. Dawn Lilian Mills, suddenly collapsed and died before medical aid arrived. As the doctor who was called could not give a certificate of death, the coroner, Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., who opened the inquest this morning, directed that a post-mortem examination be made. Evidence was given that the child had been in a delicate state of health for some time and did not have the use of iU legs. The collapse occurred in the house of a relative in .Tennyson fetieet, Grey Lynn, last night. A game of cards was in progress. The child picked up a play in"- card and when the card was taken from her the child held her breath. Dr. Vivian was summoned and arrived within 15 minutes but the child was then dead.
The inquest was adjourned pending medical evidence.
