TURF CARNIVAL.
SEVEN MEETINGS IN PROGRESS.
WAIKATO HUNT AT CAMBRIDGE,
THE SECOND DAY AT WELLINGTON.
There were seven turf meetings in progress this afternoon throughout the Dominion. Chief interest in the province centred in the annual events of the Waikato Hunt Club. Other North Island gatherings included the second day of the Wellington Racing Club's spring meeting at Trentham, and races at Waverley and Waipawa. The South Island meetings were trots at Greymouth and Oamaru, and gallops at Gore.
Owing to heavy ram overnight and this morning, the second day s programme of the Auckland Trotting Club was postponed until later in the week. Bad weather in the South also caused the indefinite postponement of the North Canterbury Racing Club's annual meeting, which was to have been held at Rangiora.
