WANGANUI OBJECTION.
MEN" REFUSE TO WORK LIGHTERS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WANGANUT, Sunday. No work was carried one on lighters which were to be loaded on Saturday morning at Castlecliff in preparation for the arrival of the New Zealand Shipping Company's motor ship Opawa, due in the roadstead to-morrow night. No reasons were given by the men, but it is understood they object to the reduced rates of pay now general throughout freezing works. Unless some agreement is reached the Opawa, which is to load a large cargo, will be delayed.
