CHRISTIAN CONVENTION.
HALF-YEARLY MEETING, ADDRESSES IN SCOTS HALL. The half-yearly Christian convention, which was opened on Saturday, was continued yesterday and to-day. Among those taking part are Dr. W. 11. Pettit and Messrs. W. R. Wilson, R. A. La idlaw, 11. Yolland and ,T. Spottiswov.de. Speakers on home ami Toreign missions are Messrs. L. R. Steel, 0. Hitdlic and. R. Auld. Mr. Laiuiaw spoke yesterday on the work of Sister Abigail in Buffalo, where she is carrying on a mission based on the faith methods of (feorse Mnllcr. of Bristol, who conducts all liis orphanages successfully without appeals for financial assistance. Mr. Wilson addressed the gatherini this morning and in the afternoon spoke on the prophet Habakkuk. The sneaker* to-night will be Messrs. H. Yolland, tutor to the New Zealand Bible Training Institute, J. Spottiswoode, evangelist, and J. H. Manins. "Mohammedanism in North Africa" will form the subject of an address by Mr, Laidlaw on Wednesday next. Mr. Laidlaw, in the course of his recent world tour, travelled along the northwest coast of Africa to Tunis and then crossed to Rome. He will illustrate his lecture with lantern slides.
