BATTLE OF TRAFALGAR.
ANNIVERSARY MESSACE. Nelson had done more at the Battle of Trafalgar than establish British supremacy on the seas, said the Rev. H. K. Vickery, chaplain to the Missions to Seamen, at a special sailors' scrvice at St. Matthew's Church yesterday. The sense of duty of that great _ sailor, he said, had provided an inspiration to many officers and men in the Royal Navy and the merchant service. Friday was the anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar. The service, which was conducted by the vicar, Rev. C. H. Grant Cowen, was attended by members of the Royal Navy and merchant service, besides representatives of patriotic bodies. Though Nelson as a man was physically frail, he had never shrunk from what he knew to be his duty, said Mr. Vickery ;and he had a deep religious conviction and a sinccre trust in God.
