CRICKET.

THE SEASON OPENS. SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS. FIXTURES AND TEAMS TO-MORROW. The Auckland Cricket Association's 1932-3 season opens to-morrow with a series of senior and senior B games, which will be completed on October 29. In addition a series wi.i be got off on Labour Bay, commencing in the morning at a quarter to ten.

At Eden Park, on Saturday, the Y.M.C.A. eleven (runners-up last summer) is drawn against University, while Eden and Parnell meet on the same ground. No doubt a good deal of interest will be manifested in the game at Devonport, for not only will Ces. Dacre be seen in action (after topping the 1000 mark in three consecutive seasons for Gloucestershire), but North Shore's opponent happens to be the champion team, Grafton. The remaining match is set down for decision at Middlemore, where Ponsonby meet King's College Old Boys, who made such an auspicious start when granted full senior status last year.

In the senior B competition there will be three matches in each of the two sections into which it has been divided.
