REDPATH CUP WINNER. A. W. ROBERTS BEST N.Z. BAT. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") CHRISTCHURCH, this day. A. W. Roberts (Canterbury) has been awarded the Kedpath Cup for the best batting in first-class cricket in the 1931-32 season, the award being made by the management committee of the New Zealand Cricket Council. Roberts represented the Dominion at Christchureh against Harold Gllligan's side in 1930, and in both tests against the South African's last summer. As a Rugby full-back his kicking won the Ranfurly Shield against Wellington in 1931, and has enabled Canterbury to retain the trophy In more than one hard encounter. Another great individual performance was responsible for Canterbury beating Sid Malcolm's Australian Rugby side In 1931.

The senior grade A and senior B teams of King's College Old Boys' Cricket Club will play matches at King's College to-morrow against Mount Albert Grammar School Old Boys and thn college first eleven, respectively. The annual meeting of the Avondalp Cricket Club, held last evening, was well attended. Mr. R. Blennerhasset presided and stated that the past season had , been more or less sucpessful, three teams competing in the Suburban Association games. No team was fortunate enough to win its section, but hopes were expressed for a better season this year. The finances of the club are sound and a credit balance of £40 is in hand. As with most clubs, the fees have been reduced.

At the Morrinsvllle Cricket Association's second and final annual meeting this week the dozen members present decided to dissolve the Morrlusvllle District Association, form themselves into a Morrinsville Cricket Club, and seek affiliation with the Plako Cricket Association, which includes clubs in the Paeroa, Te Aroha and Matamata districts. The president, Rev. J. H. Starnes, said all present would he aware of the unsatisfactory state Of affairs last season. There had not been -enough players to keep all four teams at full strength and that did not produce the best of cricket. GROCERS BEAT H. 5.0.8. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, this day. Old Boys bat'ted first and scored 04 (Collifls 33, Wilkinson four for 14, Primrose three for Iβ). Grocers, first innings, IST (Wilkinson 51, Wells 27, Talt six for 30).

A second match was played between High School and United, the latter winning by 61 runs. High School, first innings, 60 (Miller 17, Brainsby. live for 21, Belcher three for 8). United, 121 (East 33 not out, Adams 27, Belcher 27, Footo four for 44).
