FAILED TO ACCOUNT.
CANVASSER REMANDED. Pleading guilty to a charge of fraudulently omitting to account to Arthur John Morris for sums totalling £19 6/, collected between August 25 Ind September 19, William Elsted Sigglecoe, aged 39, who appeared' in the Police Court this morning, was remanded in custody until Thursday in order that the probation officer might furnish a report.
Detectivc-Sergeant Kelly said accused had been engaged canvassing for advertisements for a suburban newspaper on commission. His work was quite satisfactory for some time, and he accounted for all moneys, but later he collected advertisements, secured payment in advance, and failed to pay the money to his employer. Of the £19 6/ collected he was entitled to £7 for commission. He had never been in trouble before.
