CHRISTCHURCH, Saturday. The potato season is practically over a; far as speculation business is concerned and operations are now confined to orders and consignments. The market remaini firm locally at £3 4/ a ton, f.0.b., foi whites, but there is little inquiry fron Auckland. The Waipiata left Lytteltoi on Thursday night with 870 sacks fron Timaru and 1400 from Lyttelton. He Bluff cargo is reported to be between 200 1 and 3000 sacks. Quotations to farmers ar £5 to £5 5/ a ton for whites and to £ 10/ for Dakotas. Fowl wheat has been sold at Lytteltoi at 5/1 a bushel. ,Oats and chaff are not inquired for am . • tne small seeds market is lifeless.
