AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIPS.
The Auckland Wrestling Association's provincial amateur championships -will be commenced in Scots Hall, Upper Symonds Street, this evening. One hundred and fourteen entries have been received for tlie eight competitions, and a number of eliminating bouts will be necessary before the semi-finals and finals, which will be decided on Tuesday evening, are reached. This evening's programme will commence at 0.30. A popular admission price lias been decided upon, and lady patrons will be admitted free. In the flyweight division there are only three entries, including Kisha Bana, the Auckland and New Zealand title-liolder. The seven competitors ill tlie bantamweight class include C. Jones, another Dominion champion. In the featherweight division there are 15 entries, W. Williamson, the New Zealand champion, will defend his title in this division. The lightweight class has proved tlie most popular, there being no fewer than 27 entries. C. Kelly is the present holder of the title. The entries and present titleholders in the other divisions are as fol-lows:—Welter-weight, 18, A. J. Newton; middle-weight. 14, P. Hill; light heavyweight. 18, J. Wilson: heavy-weight, 12, M. Blomiield.
