MAX SCHMELING FINED.
SUIT BY CARNERA.
(Received 11 a.m.) NEW YORK, September 22. Max Schmeling, ex-world's champion boxer, has been fined £50 and ordered to submit to an examination before trial next Wednesday, by Mr. Justice Bernard Shientag, of the Supreme Court. The decision was given in a suit brought by Primo Garnera for alleged failure to keep a contract to box him in September last yearFailure to appear for examination would entail a possible judgment against the boxer for £20,000. PROFESSIONAL GOLF. COTTON AND PERRY PLAY OFF. , (Received 11 a.m.) LONDON, September 22. The "News of the World" golf tourna ment, fourth round, saw Laoey beat Robson 3 and 2, Perry beat Duncan 2 and 1, Jolly beat Curtis 2 and 1, and Cotton beat Hodson 7 and 0. In the semi-final Perry beat Lacey 0 and 5, and Cotton beat Jolly.
