GOLF TITLES.
THE N.Z. TOURNAMENT. HINT TO COMPETITORS. The secretary of the New Zealand Goll Association advises that, from a careful perusal of the list of men with handicaps of 4 and under, it appears that all those who enter for the amateur championship with not more than 4 will probably have their entries accepted. As regards the " open," however, it looks as though the only amateurs who will get in will be those with 1 handicap or less. This information will be a useful guide to golfers who are considering entering. Entries close on Thursday, October 20. . PUTARURU CHAMPIONSHIPS. Fred Tomalin beat P. C. Barnett, 6 and 5. over 30 holes in the final of the men's championship of the Putaruru Club. Neville Barnett beat L. Mustchin. 7 and 5, In the final game of the junior championship. The course was over 36 holes. In the championship final of the ladies' section Mrs. F. C. Barnett defeated Mrs. R. T. Smith, 2 and 1.
