FLUCTUATIONS IN SHARES. BUSINESS CONTINUES FAIR. There, has. been a fair inquiry on the local Stock Exchange over the last 24 hours, and a good list of sales has been put through. At this morning's call there was a slightly better demand for bank shares. Commercials steadied again after the latest rise, and were on offer at 15/. Nationals of Australasia were asked for, with buyers at £11 5/ for the fully paid shares and £5 12/6 for the contributing. New • Zealands were unaltered, with buyers at £2 7/3. A parcel of Westpoit Coal 10/ shares was available at 1279, and buyers for .New Zealand Breweries moved up to £1 9/. Wilsons Cements were again in request, with buyers at £1 12/6. Colonial Sugars continued to advance, but an offer of £47 10/ failed to bring any declaration from holders. Government stocks were unaltered. The Noon Call. There was a good demand for bank stocks at the noon call, and further sales of New Zealands showed a rise of 3d. Later bids were £2 7/4, with sellers at £2 7/9. In Commercials more business was done. at 15/, and sellers raised their prices to 15/2, with buyers at 14/10. Taupiri Coal preferences were on offer at £1 2/, but there were no buyers. Colonial Sugars wero strong at a high level, buyers offering £&, but sellers £2 above this figure. Australian Glass were sought at £1 18/, and this attracted sellers, who declared at £2. In the mining section Waihis continued active and rose to 17/, with more on offer at that price and buyers only Id below.
