OTAHUHU SAILING CLUB.
The 36th annual meeting of the Otahuhu Sailing Club was held last evening in the clubhouse, Mr. J. K. Morgan presiding over a good attendance. The report showed the racing last season to have been closely contested, the regatta attracting record entries. The clubhouse has been enlarged and new lockers added. The membership increased from 49 to 78 during the year. Receipts from all sources showed an increase, the total being £56 6/, which, after paying for additions to the clubhouse, left a credit of £6 3/5. Mr. Morgan congratulated members on the success of the past season, and thanked all who had assisted. The officers elected for season 1933 were as follow:—President, Mr. T. Clements; vice-presidents, as last year, with the addition of Messrs. C. Paine and "W. Impett; commodore, Mr. J. K. Morgan ; vice-commo-dore, Mr. Norman Clark; hon. treasurer, Mr. W. R. Parkinson ; hon. secretary, Mr. B Moller ; reporter, Mr. W. J. Parkinson ; steward, Mr. VV. Eddleston; auditor, Mr. S. Searby ; committee, Messrs. C. Castles, P. C. Allen, F. Fugle, h. Graham, W. J. Parkinson, J. H. Ellis and R. Castles; starter, judge and handicapper, Mr. J. H. Fernley; assistant, Mr. D. Rawnsley. The nnnual subscription was fixed at 5/, ladies 2/6 and juniors 1/6. The matter of repairs to the wharf and increasing the number of lockers was letf to the new committee. The plans of the Wakatere class were received and at the chairman's request, Mr. Wilkinson explained them and said he thought the class was very suitable for the Tamaki River. Mr. P. C. Allen, who had built one of the boats, stated that he was satisfied with her performance and ho would assist anyone wishing to build. It was decided to add a race for the class at .each fixture. Mr. L. Graham suggested that a lecture on how to restore the apparently drowned would be useful. It was decided to ask the St. John Ambulance Society to give a talk on the subject. A vote of thanks to the secretary, Mr. E. Moller, the treasurer, Mr. W. R. Parkinson, and the starter and handicapper, Mr. H. Fearnly, concluded the meeting.
