The children's Christmas tree fund will substantially benefit as a result of the annual Oddfellows* ball, held at Devonport last evening. BUSH NURSING. MEETING OF AUXILIARY. A meeting. of the Bush Nurses and Housekeepers' Auxiliary of the women's division, of the Farmers' Union took place in the board room of the Farmers' Trading Company yesterday. Mrs. C. C. Jackson, Dominion president, was in the chair, and supporting her were Mrs. B. F. Grace, president of the Bay of Plenty council; Miss Marshall, president of the South Auckland provincial executive; Mrs. Lane, president of the North Auckland executive; Mrs. L. L. Allen, president of the Waiemata provincial council; Mrs. C. K. Wilson, advisory board, Pio Pio; Mrs. R. Lilburn, of the Dominion finance committee; and Mrs. Frank Brice, of Marton, Eangitikei. In addressing the meeting Mrs. Jackeon stressed the good work done by the auxiliary, and said that since last meeting the housekeepers liad filled the followiug engagements: Wellington Central, 8; South Canterbury, 8; Wairarapa 9; 'South -Auckland, 21; Taranaki, 4; North -Auckland, 5; Bay of Plenty, 2; Waitemata, 2; Manawatu, 4; Hawke's Bay, 4; Southland, 5; Wanganui, 6. She expressed the hope that when the provincial centres were formed every executive would have its own housekeeping fund. Mi's. Jackson explained that when some of the onus was placed on each branch-each case could be more thoroughly looked into. That could not always be done from a centre.
