SOLVING ALL PROBLEMS.
HAWERA FARMER'S SCHEME. PLEA FOR INVESTIGATION. (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. Claiming that he has evolved a plan which could be put into operation by the Government and which would restore New Zealand to prosperity almost immediately, or within 12 months, J. R. Corrigan, farmer, of Hawera, is petitioning Parliament to appoint a special committee to investigate the scheme and report upon it to the House. Petitioner enumerates as followe the results he predicts the adoption of his plan would produce: Prices of exports would be brought up to the 1928 level and would be stabilised at that level; unemployment difficulties would be overcome; a gradual reduction of New Zealand's national* debt would result; land values would be stabilieed; exchange between Great Britain and New Zealand would remain at par up to the total sale value of New Zealand's exporte; and the Dominion would be in a position to arrange its borrowing internally. No details of the scheme are furnished in the petition.
