The Mount Albert Fire Brigade received a call to the premises of Mr. J. T. Smith, butcher, at the intersection of Sandringham Road and Balmoral Road late on Tuesday night. No difficulty was experienced in suppressing the fire. Another call, .was received last evening about eight""o'clock' to an old stable in New North Road, Morningside. The shed was fairly well alight,but the firemen managed to save.it from total destruction. These two fire calls were the first the Mount Albert brigade had had for about three months.
