AIR COLLISION.
Lucky Escape of Australian . Woman Flyer. NOBODY INJURED. MELBOURNE, September 21. Two aeroplanes collided at a height of 2000 ft to-day at Benalla, 120 miles north-east of Melbourne. Both were damaged but the pilots managed to land safely. The occupants of one of the machines were Flying Officer Owen and a photographer. In the other was Mrs. Bonney, who is on the last stage of her flight around Australia. Her aeroplane had one wing ripped. The rudder of the other machine was broken.
The incident occurred while the aeroplanes were manoeuvring into position in order that a, photograph might be taken of Mrs. Bonney in flight.
