REPLACEMENT COSTS OF FORESTS. Writing: In the "Canadian Gazette," February, 1931, Mr. F. J. Barnjura, a Canadian authority, states: "There is no commodity in the world that is to-day selling- so Tar below Its replacement value as an acre of timberland. Practically every commodity in the world is or can be over-produced except rorests, which are in a class by them-! selves.'^ This aspect seldom occurs to, New Zealanders, who generally imagine that other countries are progressively replanting rorests. With few exceptions, such is not the oase, chiefly because the rate of growth is too slow to commercialise tree planting. Bondholders In N.z.
