TRAINING OF TEACHERS
STITOFNTS IN 1933. DEPARTMENT DECISIONS. The decisions of the Minister of Education concerning probationers and Training College students were announced at the Auckland Education Board's meeting yesterday in a letterreceived from the Education Department. The Minister has decided that no probationers shall be appointed in 1933, and, with the exception of the four or five student teachers from technical schools/ no Division "A" students will be admitted to the Training Colleges in 1933. All qualified Division "C" students, i.e., graduates, will be admitted to the Training Colleges, but not more than 25 of the present second-year students will be granted third-year studentships. Intending Division "B" students may lodge their applications for admission with the Director of Education before November 15, on the understanding, however, that the Minister may decide that no such students, will be admitted to the Training Colleges next year.
