SCHOOL SPORTS.
THAMES H.S. STEEPLECHASE. THAMES, Wednesday. The annual handicap steeplechase for the Diamond Jubilee Shield for boys of the Thames High School was run yesterday, the first four to finish being M. Beech (15.38) 1, B. Croker (16.10) 2, M. K. Baker (16.15) 3, G. Allan 4. Results on handicap times are:—E. Croker (30s), 15.37, 1; A. McMillan (1.30), 15.41, 2; W. Beech (scr) and M. K. Baker (30s), 15.45, equal, 3. LOWER WAIKATO ASSOCIATION. The annual meeting of the Lower Walkato Primary School Amateur Athletic Sports Association was held in Taupiri School on Monday last, the chair being taken by Mr. F. C. Day in the absence of the president, Mr. C. Scott. The balancesheet showed a deficit of under £2. The election of officers resulted as follows: — President, Mr. R. C. Lightboumc (Huntly) ; secretary-treasureir, Mr. H. Honor (Huntly) ; committee, Messrs. W. Hughes (Ngaruawahia), F. C. Day (Taupiri), N. Carr (Pukemiro), D. G. Smith (Orini), E. Reeve (Komakorau). A. .T. Pattison (Te Hoe), J. Kendon (Hoe-o-tainui), A. Murphy (Convents), W. Earle (Ohinewai). G. Frear (Whitikahu), R. Sutherland (Waikokowhai), P. Gerrand (Rotowaro). It. Nairn (Glen Massey). M. O'Brien (Klmihia) ; official starter. Col. Plugge. The sports meeting will be held at Huntly on the Thursday immediately before Good Friday.
