YESTERDAY'S ELECTIONS. RESULTS OF THE POLLS. CHANGES OF PERSONNEL. A lively interest was taken yesterday in tlio biennial election of members of town boards. Results are as follow:— HELENSVILLE. Successful.—C. S. West 267, Dr. F. Matlieson 253, J. F. Lambert 251. J. B. Edmonds 218, A. G. Lowe 203, W. Downer 195, E. S. Dunford 174. Unsuccessful.—6. Paton 173, E. Sellars 151, C. G. Sandin 140, A. J. Rovcroft 12S. KAMO. Successful.—J. Morrow 176, H. Younger 170, W. Wakelin 166, B. Woods 160, M. Melnnes 150. W. Markwick 152. Of the above all were sitting members except Mr. W. Wakelin, a previous member, who returns to the board after unsuccessfully contesting a seat in the last election. Mr. Markwick, a sitting member, was defeated. HIKURANGI. The voting was: R. Nesbitt 252, W. J. McKinlay, inn., 236, H. H. Hawkins 234, E. W. Rickard 217, C. Latham 194, D. Cochrane 160. N. Gibson 153. Mrs. C. L Dale 142, J. W. Hansel! 136. A. Pratt 108, F. R. Never has interest been more intense in I a town board election than at Hikurangi. j Something in the nature of a ticket was, run bv the collieries, and the nomination ] of two ladies added life to the election. Both are prominent members of the Women's Institute and other local organisations. Mr. R. Nesbitt, who was returned at the top of the poll, is the present chairman, and Messrs. Rickard, Latham, and Hawkins nre sitting members. No less than 435 votes were recorded, of which i\ were informal. RUSSELL. The voting was: A. E. Bissett 125, H. Sommerville 116. A. E. Neumann 102, J. Graham 99, W. T. Anderson 90, M. Ashton S5, .7. Brooker 81, G. P. Hooper 72, J. Armitagc 69. Mr. Sommerville was the only new candidate returned. Mr. J. Armitagc had beeu a member or the board since its inception. The present chairman. Mr. Bissett, topped the poll. A total of 190 voted. ONERAHI. The voting was: A. D. Weir 144, P. J. Mcllvrlde 132, G.
