No decision has yet been reached by the Government as to the appointment of a successor to the present High Commissioner, Sir Thomas Wilford, whose term expires at the end of the present year, and who, it is understood, does not desire to be reappointed for a furthem term. Mr. Forbes was asked to-day whether there was a likelihood of Sir Thomas being reappointed and he intimated that lie would probably be in a. position to make an announcement shortly.
