MOTOR CYCLIST THROWN.
SERIOUS HEAD INJURIES
SKID ON SLIPPERY ROAD,
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, this day. A fractured skull wae received by Mr. D. Bathgate, a young man living at Valley Road, Hikurangi, when his motor cycle skidded at the intersection of Kamo Road and Kensington Avenue this morning. Mr. Bathgate was riding in from Hikurangi and was turning into Nixon Street when his machine began to skid on the bitumen surface, made slippery by the rain. The cycle skidded for about 30 yards and Mr. Bathgate wae thrown clear. He was thrown on the wrong side of the road, striking his head heavily on the pavement, and was taken to the Whangarei Hospital. His condition is reported to be serious.
