"BEAUTY AND THE BOSS."
NEW FILM AT THE REGENT.
After the final screening of "Arrowsmith," the Ginclair Lewis Nobel Prizewinning novel, featuring Ronald Colman and Helen Hayes in the film version, which will take place at the Regent Theatre this evening, the initial presentation of "Beauty and the Boss," a new film starring Marian Marsh, will be made at that theatre. Marian Marsh is cast opposite Warren William, whose excellent work is known to Aucklanders through "The Honour of the Family" and "Skyscraper Souls." Miss March herself is one of Hollywood s most surprising stars. Eighteen months ago she was unknown, then she leapt to fame in John Barrymore's "Svengali" ("Trilby"). After that came "The Mad Genius," also with John Barrymore. In "Beauty and the Boss" she has the port of David Manners, Frederick Kerr, and Charles Butterworth, the long-limbed and long-faced comedian. The Regent is organising in connection with the screening of this production a beauty contest in which the entrants will be photographed at the expense of the management. The prizes, which will be given according to public voting on unnamed screen slides, will be topped by the offer of a fortnight's holiday in the North Island.
