(By THE MAN ABOUT TOWN.) Talkino- about cows, it eeem-s incredible to us. whose whole domestic history is dotted with cows, punctuated with Jersey heifers, and ruled in lives ot STOOL AND bobby calves, that anyBUCKET. body should exist who has never seen one of these interesting and thoughtful beasts. Yet, as vou may have read, an American cow man is touring the cities of the United States with a couple of cows to exhibit these rarities at two cents a head to children who have never seen them before. There is the story, too, of Gerald from the heart of London, who found himself in the baekblocks, and who, to put it mildlv, was temporarily bored. His letter to his parents is classic: "In London you get your milk out of a nice, clean dairy—in New Zealand they squeeze it out of a nasty cow. It is only fair to say, however, that within a month Gerald was "doing, hi.3 twelve" and was makin" the splendid living his public school training entitled him to—seven and six and his tucker every seven days.
