"PARAMOUNT WEEK."
. SILVER SHIELD AWARDED. The twelfth annual celebration of "Paramount Week" occurs this week, from yesterday to next Thursday night. It is being observed by leading theatres throughout New Zealand and Australia, in competition for the £100 Paramount Silver Shield awarded to the theatre executing the best advertising, publicity and exploiting campaign. It will be marked by the screening of "The Miracle Man" in Auckland, but many other films are being released throughout the Dominion. A British effort, "Aren't We All?" featuring Gertrude Lawrence, Hugh Wakefield and OwenNares; "The World and the Flesh," with George Bancroft and Miriam Hopkins; and "The Sky Bride," with Jack Oakie, Richard Arlen and Robert Coogan, are some of the films that are listed for general release.
