A GANGSTER'S FATE.

BODY IN BARREL OF CEMENT. The mystery of the disappearance of Abe Wagner, a notorious gangster and beer runner, has been solved. He was shot by rivals and his body placed in a barrel of liquid cement. When the cement had hardened the staves of the barrel were knocked away and the solid mass was dropped into the Hudson River. Wagner disappeared soon after the .Lindbergh baby was kidnapped, and the police used his name, together with that of Harry Fleischer, as a " smoke screen " to cover their real activities. They have now for the first time learned his fate. The gangster had been arrested six times on charges ranging from petty larceny to homicide. Twice he escaped from men told off by rivals to kill him with machine-guns.
