CANBERRA, August 31
The Federal Parliament reassembled to-da.y. There was an atmosphere of tension owing, to the open hostility of the Country party toward the Government, which desires a- higher exchange rate and an immediate revision of the tariff.
Mr. P. Lynch, of West Australia, was elected president of the Senate, defeating the former president, Mr. Walter Kingsmill.
