TWENTY-NINTH ANNUAL MEETING.

A feature of the twenty-ninth annual meeting of the Victoria r-uising Club, held last evening in the nubhouee, was the number of old officers and committeemen Who attended, several of them being elected to offices which they had held In the early days of the club. The report, submitted by Mr. J. McGelian, lion, secretary, stated that in common with other sporting bodies, the club had felt the effects of the present conditions By hard work on the part of the officers and committee the year had been a fairly good one. The liability on the clubhouse had been reduced by £50, and the prize list had not suffered to any extent, cash prizes being given for all events at the club's regatta. Their thanks were due to the honorary officers, and especially to their patron, Mr. Ernest Davis, for ungenerous support. The balance-sheet, submitted by Mr. G. Tvlcoat, showed receipts totalling £-.47 including balance in bank, which now stood at £74. The balance of assets over liabilities was £019. Moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, the chairman, Mr. K. Johnson said it was very satisfactory and he congratulated the officers of the past season on the result of their efforts to uphold the good name of the club. Messrs. W. Dervan, T. Ij. Thompson and G. H. Reston supported the chairman's remarks. The election oC officers for season 193238 resulted as follows: —Patron, Mr. Ernest Davis; vice-patron, Mr. Eliot Davis ; president, Mr. W. Casey; vice-presidents, as last year with the addition of Mr. Nprman Wilson ; commodore, Mr. E. Griffiths; vice-commodore, Mr. W. T. Matthews; rearcommodore, Mr. W. Tnpp, sen.; lion, secretary. Mr. .T. McGehan ; lion, treasurer, Mr. G Tylcoat; assistant secretary, Mr. G. Mobberley; clubhouse captain, Mr. W. H. Hawkcs: auditors, Messrs. Ij. A. Tercel and E. O. .Tohnson; delegates to Yacht and Motor Boat Association, Messrs. G. Mobberley and W. T. Matthews; club steward, Mr. F. Morgan; committee, Messrs. H. Martin, li. A. Tercel, G. Parker, G. H. Keston, .T. O'Sullivan, W. Tupp, jun., E. Culhane, H. Henderson, J. Purdy, W. Bettamy, -T. Mclntyre and A. Bennett. Remits dealing with the locker rents, hauling out fees, system of counting points for the aggregate prize and the voting of boat owners and their crew were referred to the incoming committee. Several trophies were presented for the coming season, including a silver shield from Mr. Norman Wilson, and a trophy in memory of an old supporter the late Mr. J. (Mick) Maher, donated by Messrs. W. and J. Dervan. A vote of thanks to the retiring commodore, Mr. G. Parker, to the officers and committee and to the Press concluded the business. It was decided to hold a general meeting on September 21, when the sailing and i other committees will be elected.
